Crowns

What are Dental Crowns?

At our Lethbridge dental clinic, we use dental crowns (hollow, artificial teeth) to repair damaged or decayed teeth, restore their function and prevent them from deteriorating further.

Why do I need a crown?

Dental crowns cover damaged teeth and protect them from any future issues. They are often used in dental procedures to cover a tooth after a root canal or to attach a dental bridge.

If you need a filling replaced but your natural tooth is too small, your dentists may crown it. Your dentist may also use a crown to cover a crooked or discoloured tooth to improve your aesthetic.

Materials & Performance

Made from a variety of strong materials such as ceramics, a combination of porcelain and metal, gold, or resin, and look and work like natural teeth.

If you take good care of of your crowns, they can last for 10 years, and often longer.
